If you’ve visited one of the beautiful islands of Hawai’i, you may have first-hand experience smelling a strongly scented gardenia flower. You may have even seen these flowers growing wild on a trail or even along the road.
Gardenias are known as “na’u” in Hawai’i. Although there are over 142 species of Gardenia, only several species occur on Hawai’i. Believe it or not, gardenias are actually a member of the coffee family, Rubiaceae, native to tropical and subtropical regions.
Gardenia plants or trees can grow from 3 feet to 49 feet tall, and usually bloom from mid-spring to mid-summer.
One of our first choices for our line of flower candles in our Hawaiian Candle line was Gardenia, and it remains one of our most popular sellers.
Our Gardenia Flowers can be customized for weddings or special events, and this candle emits a strong fragrance when lit or unlit.
